FUN!
28 January – 29 April 2012

Fun! is an exhibition in which fun bubbles below the surface of even the most serious piece of art. Sometimes it meets the viewer smack in the face; at other times it is just a coy wink from the darkest corner of the piece. It can also reside in the way the work was made or in the artist's attitude. Sometimes just the shapes are enough to create a sense of fun. The humour in the Fun! exhibition is variously dark, white, neon red, round, angular, digital, hand-made or conceptual.

Fun! is brimming with cunning combinations – new and old, the sweet and the macabre.

The exhibition showcases young international artists for whom art is fun, and meaningful even when it is absurd. Several of the artists appear in Finland for the first time.
